I worked with an older set today and with some heavy mint green vellum.

I would like to take this moment to thank those talented ladies at ODBD for all of the wonderful inspiration they have bestowed upon me!  I'm no longer needed there but I just wanted to say that it has been wonderful working with them!!! (((Hugs to you all!)))

So what does the new year hold?  I have a pile of new Stampscapes stamps that I have had for over a year now. They are patiently waiting to be used.  I hope to be inking those up soon and making some scenic cards with them. I also want to get back to making videos. It's long overdue and I know that most of you like video more than reading blog posts! The very first project for the new year is to clean up and organize the craft room. It looks like a tornado has been through there and I will feel much better once I have it organized again!!! It's always so busy at the end of the year with holidays back to back and the travel!

I would like to wish you all a happy New Year!!! Now go check out the other Challenge team member's projects!

ODBDSLC265 Christmas Greetings

The Christmas rush is on at my house as we decorate the house, make Christmas cards and make Christmas Ornaments.  We have a wonderful color challenge today and I hope all of you will play along!  These colors could be used on a Christmas or non Christmas project.
I decided to pull out an old favorite and make a Christmas card with the Blue Ribbon Winner and Canning Jar Fillers stamp sets. I love these sets because they are so versatile and I reach for them often. I began by stamping the jar on acetate with black Stazon ink. When that was dry, I used alcohol markers on the back of the acetate to color the jar. I then stamped the candy canes on white paper and colored the stripes a bit more with red markers to add some shading. I die cut it with the corresponding jar die and colored the top of the jar with silver ink. When the acetate is placed on top, it adds depth with the silver being behind the plastic.
A bit of Silver cording, a sentiment and some greens tops of the jar quite nicely.  I added foam tape to the back and placed the jar on several rectangles that were cut using the new Rectangle and Double Stitched Rectangle Dies. I added a bit of blingy trim, did some embossing and added a border with a bow.

I used the white from the fireplace wall, the angels and the nativity set as my inspiration for my card.
Don't you just love this new stamp called The Mighty God? I think it is beautiful and pairs nicely with the new Lovely Leaves die set.
I began with a white card base and added a silver layer. To this I added a white layer which I embossed with the angel embossing folder and then added white glitter using a glue pen. Once dry, I used a craft knife to cut slots along the edge of the angel and inserted The Mighty God stamped image which I embossed with silver embossing powder. A few leaves and poinsettias added as a finishing touch to this simple yet elegant card.
Now it's time to go visit the other breadsticks and see what they have made for you today!!!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting!!!!

ODBDSLC262 Dolphin Window

It has a been a very busy few months for me! There have been lots of preserving of food from the garden and many outdoor jobs getting finished up before cold weather hits! I just finished up preserving three bushels of apples. From that, I was able to can seventy one jars of apple products. I canned apple syrup, apple butter, apple pie preserves, apple pie filling and cinnamon apples. I also dried some of the apples for making fried apple pies and cinnamon apple oatmeal! Needless to say, I am tired of looking at apples but I'll sure be glad I have them come the dark days of winter.
Amidst all of the work, we snuck in a few days of camping too! You can read about that here.
Now let's get on to the task at hand, it's card sketch challenge day at ODBD.
Today I have a rustic masculine card for you! Nothing too fancy or difficult so I won't bore you with the details. If you should have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm always happy to help you out!

I have made my first Christmas ornament of the season using some of the new November dies!  Just click on the links in the materials list for more information.
SMALL BOW DIESMEDIUM BOW DIESLOVELY LEAVES DIES
I have used the small and medium bow die at the top of the ornament and then I colored the back of the bows with Copic R29. Next, I added gold glitter glue around the edges. I stamped the poinsettia three times using embossing powder and colored using Copic markers. I cut out three different sizes and stacked the layers on top of a circle die cut after I added the greens.
I used the banner dies to create the bottom of the ornament and added some embellishments. I added glittler glue to the edge of the wood ornament base which I painted gold and then added four pieces of bling around the edge.  The finished ornament is 6 3/4 inches tall from bow to bead and 4 inches wide.

Check out what my sister breadsticks have in store for you!

I can't wait to see what you make and share with us!!!!

I love the look of these stacked stars! They make such an impact on a card and they are so elegant too!
I have dry embossed by using some dies that cut and emboss. You can see this on several of the star die cuts. I heat embossed the background, the sentiment and one of the stars!
This is an A2 size card base and I used a burgundy pealized card stock. Then I added the background which I made using gold pearlized card stock, gold embossing powder and the Ornate Background stamp. I then went to work creating the stacked stars by cutting the large star from the Flourished Star Pattern dies in shiny gold card stock. I took the large star from the Splendorous Stars die and cut it using the new ODBD Christmas Collection 2015 paper. I adhered these two pieces together to form the base of the star. The next layer was created by stamping the small star from the Silk Stars Stamp Set and embossing with gold embossing powder on the burgundy card stock as I used for the card base. This was cut out using the Shining Star Die and I also cut a bright gold star with the next to the largest Flourished Star Patter Dies. These were adhered together and then applied on top of the star base by using double sided foam tape. I cut the smallest star with the Splendorous Stars dies and the Christmas Collection paper. This was placed on top with double sided foam tape also.
The Sentiment was made by embossing Merry Christmas from the Chistmas Verses stamp set and placing foam tape on the back. This was layered on top of burgundy card stock and placed on the card with more foam tape. I thought it needed a little something else so I added the strip down the left side for interest.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Check out what the other gals have made for you and leave them some love!
