I love the look of these stacked stars! They make such an impact on a card and they are so elegant too!
I have dry embossed by using some dies that cut and emboss. You can see this on several of the star die cuts. I heat embossed the background, the sentiment and one of the stars!
This is an A2 size card base and I used a burgundy pealized card stock. Then I added the background which I made using gold pearlized card stock, gold embossing powder and the Ornate Background stamp. I then went to work creating the stacked stars by cutting the large star from the Flourished Star Pattern dies in shiny gold card stock. I took the large star from the Splendorous Stars die and cut it using the new ODBD Christmas Collection 2015 paper. I adhered these two pieces together to form the base of the star. The next layer was created by stamping the small star from the Silk Stars Stamp Set and embossing with gold embossing powder on the burgundy card stock as I used for the card base. This was cut out using the Shining Star Die and I also cut a bright gold star with the next to the largest Flourished Star Patter Dies. These were adhered together and then applied on top of the star base by using double sided foam tape. I cut the smallest star with the Splendorous Stars dies and the Christmas Collection paper. This was placed on top with double sided foam tape also.
The Sentiment was made by embossing Merry Christmas from the Chistmas Verses stamp set and placing foam tape on the back. This was layered on top of burgundy card stock and placed on the card with more foam tape. I thought it needed a little something else so I added the strip down the left side for interest.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Check out what the other gals have made for you and leave them some love!

Here is the inspiration pic and verse and a full view of my card. I used the Day/Night and Winter as my inspiration from the verse and the ornaments from the photograph to come up with this card.
I started with a white A2 card base and added a Vintage Flourish Pattern Die cut. I topped that with a Vintage Labels Die cut which I cut in white. I sponged in the blue and added some glitter glue to the edge.

Next I stamped the ornament twice in Blue ink and added the sentiment on one of them. I then fussy cut the sentiment and embossed it in clear embossing powder. I die cut the ornament and embossed it with a clear glitter embossing powder to make it sparkle. I added silver cord to the top of the ornament and attached it to the card. I added foam tape to the sentiment and added it and the bow to the ornament. I used white card stock to cut the greens and the poinsettia which I glittered before making the top assembly. The ornament was topped off with the greens and flower. That's it, a simple and straight forward card.
Go check out and leave some love for the other design team members who have made some wonderful projects for you today! Come back and play along with the challenge!

O Come Metallic ODBDSLC257

Welcome to another Shining Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.  I have just returned from a cold, wet and rainy camping trip that has put me in the Christmas Spirit.  That sounds a bit odd but the cold weather was great for sitting around a campfire!  I could have taken less rain but we made the best of it and went out sight seeing. This is just the sort of weather that sends me running for my Christmas Tunes while I create Christmas cards. I guess the timing was perfect for this challenge!

Today we are working with the colors white, black, silver and gold. I chose to use the white, silver and gold on my card. When I first saw the Adore Him Die, I knew I had to use some bright gold to create an elegant card. All I did was use a few layers, two die cuts and an embossing folder to make this simple card! I guess the most difficult part of this was to fussy cut the embossed white layer. The perfect accompaniment to this die cut was the use of a small star die cut from the Splendorous  Stars Dies. It's simple, easy and elegant!
